Project Objectives In 1968 two partner countries, both members of the "socialist block" stood on two different sides of the barricade.

Why and how did this happen?

"Prague Spring, Sofia Summer - 1968" Project tries to give answers to these questions based on original documents, archives, images and other materials.

Outcomes
  • copies of original State Archive, Communist Party Archive, Ministry of Defense documents and media coverage.
  • photos from the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, Ministry of Defense and from personal archives, witnessing for important events and for the atmosphere of these times.
  • you can read and hear recollections witnessing about the 1968 events, you will be able to touch the musical and cultural spirit of these years.
  • you can view original videos, showing the official position of Bulgarian propaganda, as well as unpublished video materials from 1968.
