New Book: "Lightning do not Strack Bushes"
"Lightning do not struck Bushes. Communism and Life Stories", edited and collected by Assoc. Prof. Daniela Koleva is already on the book market. Daniela Koleva is professor in Social and Cultural Anthropology and her recent interests lay in the field of oral history and collective memory.
This is the first publication of the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past and it presents the outcomes of the "Memory Awaken - Voices from Below" Project, implemented in the years of 2006 and 2007.
The book gathers series of anthropological interviews concerning individual life stories during the communism period. Along three fieldtrips Alexandra Petrova, Vanya Elenkova, Daniela Koleva, Diana Zheleva, Ivan Dionisiev, Kalina Kostadinova, Radostina Peneva, Slavka Karakusheva, Hristina Geshova have interviewed people from the Bela Rechka village, from the small town of Koprivshtica and Rousse.
The project and the publication were made possible by the financial support of the MATRA/KAP programme of the Netherlands Embassy in Bulgaria.
